SO, I'm back! (actually I've been back for about a week but I'm lazy~)
AND NEW YORK WAS FRIGGIN THE BEST
But I think I like Boston better. :3 There was a surprising lack of pastries in New York.
So much stuff to talk about...
I sat in the very front of a Blue Man Group show, and my world was thoroughly and completely rocked. ♥ SO COOL SO COOL
We also went to see How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying--with Daniel Radcliff! who I didn't really care for that much before but who I am now convinced is hilarious and charming and a pretty great dancer (not that great of a singer, however).
I rode the subway! WOW
We visited Battery Park and The Sphere and Central Park and Strawberry Fields and Times Square (several times; we were right down the street) and Wall Street and of course Broadway... We were supposed to take the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty but my group was late to leave the hotel so we missed it.
And then we were also supposed to tour the Empire State Building but they cancelled that because it was a 2 hour wait. :/ And we were also supposed to tour Carnegie hall but they stopped giving tours I guess? BUT THAT DOESN'T MATTER because we got to play on the stage. Yes. My school orchestra played in Carnegie Hall. :'D
We stopped by the New York Public Library which I only knew from Ghostbusters but was still pretty cool, and went to the Pokemon Center/Nintendo store (which was like A DREAM COME TRUE :0). And we went to Chinatown and ate at a great bakery my friend's mom showed us, and bought green tea mochi ice cream and ate it on the street, and I bought some cool origami paper/instructions from the Japanese section of the supermarket and made some wicked neato star-balls on the plane back home.
PLUS
The day before we left, I convinced my group to go to Obscura Antiques and Oddities (from the TV show "Oddities")! GUYS, IT WAS AWESOME. I didn't have much money on me, so I couldn't buy anything cool like a real human skull or antique medical equipment or Victorian hair jewelry or anything, but I DID get a picture with Evan Michelson, who is the nicest and the coolest and has the coolest hair. :'D (And I feel really bad about this but I also completely ignored the un-televised shopgirl who I didn't even realize existed until she said "bye" when we left, and I DID I MENTION I FEEL TERRIBLE ABOUT THAT? D: )
The whole trip we saw several street performers and hobos (playing harmonica!) and generally interesting people who really made the experience all the more enjoyable. Matt also made his samurai face at any and all passers-by, adding "my gut" to my list of aching body parts--SO MUCH WALKING. D: I don't think I have ever walked so much in my life.
Blehurblegurble, that is all I can remember for now and you are probably not that interested in my trip anyways. :-/ SO! I now return to my regularly scheduled life of school and homework and AP tests.
OH CRAP AP TESTS
